We Did It For You! is a compelling journey told through
music and historical accounts of the struggles, hardship and endurance of the
strong and persistent women who came before us to ensure that all women in the
United States would enjoy the right to own land, to have a career, to vote and
so much more.
In the play, a high school student is tasked with discovering who has done the most for the women of today, and she learns the
answer from the women who were there. It is the ideal history lesson disguised as
entertainment.
The play focuses on the stories of just some
of the women who believed they deserved more than being treated as minorities and
being extensions of men. Women have not only struggled to obtain their rights; they have made
contributions to society and academia that have been overlooked in many history books.
