a civil disobedience for a digital world

An all-powerful leader.

A government that won't stand up to him.

A young woman who will.

fefffeffAntigone Ablaze is a devised piece of theater created by BSU students and faculty to fit the world we live in. As a collaborative team, the cast and director will take on the exciting task of creating a brand new, original piece of theater designed to be live-streamed to its audience. We will use the techniques of devised theatre practitioners to dive into the text of Sophocles’ Antigone and make it our own. With themes like authoritarian leadership, complacent government and civil disobedience, this ancient story has remained timeless and relevant. We get to be some of the first on the frontier of creating theatre in this new world.
