Media’s Impact on Youth Political Participation in Iran,
Iraq, Libya, Morocco, Sudan, and Tunisia
a virtual lecture by Dr. Hanan El-Shibiny, Cairo University, Egypt
Dr. El-Shibiny will discuss the media's
impact on the engagement of Middle Eastern and North African youth in the
political and democratic process, and how this contributes to positive changes
in their communities.
Dr. Jabbar Al-Obaidi, Academic Director of Global Programs, will
provide the welcoming remarks; Dr. Navid Fozi Abivard, Interim Director, MENA
Studies Program, will introduce Dr. El-Shibiny; and Dr. Laura McAlinden, Chair,
Philosophy Department, will moderate.
The event is open to the BSU community and the public. Classes are
welcome to join. Advance registration is required. Registrants will receive
