Join the Martin Richard Institute for Social Justice at Bridgewater State University on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, as we host a series of events highlighting Truth Tellers.

Truth Tellers is a new documentary film chronicling the lives of courageous Americans fighting for racial equity, climate justice, and indigenous rights through the eyes of Robert Shetterly, a longtime activist and artist. The film explores the intersection of these issues stressing the urgency of coming together to confront them and galvanizing our resolve to uphold our country’s founding ideals.
Please join us for our events on September 21 highlighting Truth Tellers:
4-5:30 pm- Truth Tellers Film Screening & Discussion (In-Person or Virtual)
  • We will screen the documentary film Truth Tellers and host a post-film discussion with the artist Robert Shetterly in DMF 120. We will also be joined virtually by one of the activists that he’s painted. This free event will be open to all with options for both in-person and virtual attendance available.
5:30-6:30 pm- Meet & Mingle (In-Person)
  • In-person attendees are invited to join us after the film screening for a reception in the Dana Mohler-Faria Science and Mathematics Center Atrium.
In addition to the events on September 21, Bridgewater State University is hosting an exhibit of 12 portraits painted by artist Robert Shetterly on the third floor of Maxwell Library. This exhibit will be on display for the month of September, through Homecoming weekend.
