This interactive webinar explores harm reduction as applied to social work practice with substance use and mental health across all systems levels. Discussion begins with the tenets of harm reduction and social work values, the language we use to talk about substance use and mental health, as well as examples of harm reduction in practice.
Taylor Hall, PhD, is an Assistant Professor at Bridgewater State University School of Social Work, teaching in the policy, HBSE, and macro social work courses. Currently, her research focuses on training social workers to engage in practice with a harm reduction lens in working with individuals, families and communities impacted by substance use, mental health, houselessness and poverty. She is co-chair of the Racial Justice Council and co-leads a community-based effort on social work student wellness. In her spare time, she enjoys sunshine, reading, her dogs, and weightlifting.
