On Thursday, November 15, from 4 to 6:30 in the Heritage Room of the Maxwell Library, the Irish Studies Program and the BSU Celtic Club will host a Pizza and Picture film event to screen The Wind that Shakes the Barley, a 2006 Irish historical drama and winner of the Cannes Film Festival's Palm d'Or, starring Cillian Murphy. A discussion will follow.

From IMDB:
"The Wind that Shakes the Barley is set during the Irish War of Independence in the early 1920s. Damien, an Irish medical student, is about to leave Ireland to complete his training in London, but before doing so witnesses atrocious brutalities carried out by the Black and Tans which leads him to join his brother Teddy in the Irish Republican Army. Soon however, the peace treaty is signed, and the brothers are pitted against each other."

This event is part of International Education Week. The BSU community and the public are welcome to attend. Pizza and snacks will be provided.
