The Minnock Institute for Global Engagement (MIGE) and the Asian Studies Program at BSU, together with the National Committee on United States-China Relations, invite the BSU community and the public to CHINA TOWN HALL, a National Conversation on China, to be held on Tuesday, April 9.

From 3:25-4:40pm on Zoom, historian and author Dr. Maura Elizabeth Cunningham will deliver a talk: Under the Gaze of the Surveillance State: China, the United States, and Technology in the 21st Century.

From 6:30-7:30 pm, the National Committee on United States-China Relations will host a national webcast featuring Dr. Kurt Campbell, Deputy Secretary of State.

Dr. Maura Elizabeth Cunningham is a historian and writer. She has written about a variety of topics—books, pop culture, travel, and feminism among them—but the majority of her work focuses on China. She holds a PhD in Chinese history from the University of California, Irvine. Dr. Cunningham has lived in Beijing, Nanjing, and Shanghai, and traveled widely elsewhere in China.
