Join Irish Studies in the Maxwell Library, Heritage Room on Tuesday, November 16 from 5-7pm, for a reception with special
guest Dr. Christina Morin of the University of Limerick. Dr. Morin will read
from her book, The Gothic Novel in Ireland, c. 1760-1829, and the BSU
World Music Ensemble, directed by Salil Sachdev, will perform Irish music.
Refreshments will be available, including a cash bar.
Dr. Christina Morin is currently the Head of
English at the University of Limerick and the course director for the
MA in Global Irish Studies. Her research interests center on Romantic-era
Irish gothic literature, book history, and Irish women's writing. In addition
to The Gothic Novel in Ireland, c. 1760-1829, she is the author of Charles
Robert Maturin and the Haunting of Irish Romantic Fiction (2011). She
has also edited, with Marguérite Corporaal, Traveling Irishness in the
Long Nineteenth Century (2017) and, with Niall Gillespie, Irish
Gothics: Genres, Forms, Modes and Traditions (Palgrave Macmillan,
2014).
