The Asian Studies Program invites
you to the Mid-Autumn Festival! Enjoy music while dining on Asian food from a
local restaurant; sample traditional mooncakes; and join in singing karaoke!
Mid-Autumn Festival is a
harvest festival, celebrated in China and other East Asian countries, such as
Vietnam and Singapore. It’s always in September or
October, on month 8 day 15 of the Chinese lunar calendar. Also called
the Moon Festival or Mooncake
Festival, it is celebrated when the moon is believed to be the
biggest and fullest, and mooncake is the most common festival food.
This year at BSU, the Festival
will be held on Sunday, September 23 from 6-9 p.m., in the RCC Ballroom. The BSU
community and the public are welcome to join in.
中秋快乐 (Happy Mid-Autumn Festival!)
