Enjoy free lunch and a talk by sociologists Stefanie DeLuca (Johns Hopkins) and Susan Clampet-Lundquist (St. Joseph's). They are the co-authors (with Kathryn Edin) of Coming of Age in the Other America, which draws on ten years of fieldwork with parents and children in Baltimore public housing to show how some disadvantaged urban youth achieve upward mobility and how the right public policies can help break the cycle of disadvantage.

Professors DeLuca and Clampet-Lundquist will speak from approximately 12:30-1:30 p.m., with audience Q&A and book signing to follow. The first 20 people to arrive will receive a free copy of Coming of Age! This event is free and open to the public, but because spaces are limited, registration is required at http://bit.ly/edjustice315.

This is the fourth event in #edjustice, a two-week series on justice & injustice in the American education system, sponsored by the Martin Richard Institute for Social Justice at Bridgewater State University.
